Feng Shui- Wind Chimes To Better Your Life

Wind chimes are attributed to the Chinese, who over three thousand years ago made them to generate melodic sounds for their religious services. Feng Shui wind chimes are often made of wood and bamboo is the most widely used.

When hung in the proper place, bamboo wind chimes are said to contribute to your health. Natural healing powers are said to be one of the attributes of these chimes when they are hung in your doorways and windows. One of the ways to experience the mind healing powers is to stop and listen to the music that is generated by the breeze playing with the chimes.

The number of cylinders that a wind chime has is what decides the purpose of the chimes. Six to eight cylinders are said to bring good luck. Five tubes are often used to protect against bad luck. Although people tend to hang these feng shui items everywhere, placing them in a position where they face a certain star is considered the best place.

Stars are fire elements and by facing them, wind chimes made of wood receive sustenance that in turn makes good luck stream into your home and in turn into your life. Such items have long been considered to bring luck into the home in which they hang.

Not only are they considered to bring luck but wind chimes made of eight cylinders, hollowed and connected to a ship can bring wealth to the owner. The ship must be modeled after an ancient Chinese ship used for trading. It can be made from bamboo also. Rosewood is another good wood for making the ship.

In the same manner as one uses the bamboo one, metal wind chimes are not recommended because they can release bad luck. Rather than receiving the sustenance from the stars, they resist it.

The sounds from bamboo chimes can be quite soothing. If made of a thinner wood they produce a tinkling sound whereas the thicker wood makes a bong sound. Either way the sounds produced by them is said to have great results on clearing your mind and relieving stress.

Many bamboo ones are hand cut. Then they are tuned to produce wonderful sounds. Almost nothing else in the world is as soothing as the sounds from these items. Although many years ago, these sound makers were made of other items rather than metals or wood, that is the main way of making them today. Depending on the preference of the user, wooden ones are the most popular for Feng Shui practices.

Feng Shui wind chimes have become more popular over the last few years as people search for ways to improve their life. Searching for happiness, wealth, and good health has almost become an obsession. Not to mention finding love.

The studies of the past have suggested that wind chimes were a vital part of the Chinese history. A large part of Feng Shui is the belief in it. So if you believe that the placement of these feng shui tools will enhance your life, they may do just that.

Call Center Of The Future Best Practice: Startek “the Enterprise Of Call Centers Just Got Better”

I have had the privilege to watch the construction of StarTek’s newest call center based in Costa Rica and to get to know the on the ground leadership team responsible for Start-Up.

Why does StarTek make my Cut for Best Practices?  Place, Passion and People!

As a former Customer Service Manager for one of the largest Call Centers in the U.S. and Coach/Consultant for Call Center Sales and Customer Service, I keep an eye out for call centers that demonstrate “Best Practices”, particularly companies that are working passionately to improve the perception that “Customer Service over the Phone” is a nightmare and “Working in a Call Center” an even greater one.  Let’s not even talk about the reputation of “Off-Shore Call Centers”

1) Place: The Feng Shui of Call Centers.

StarTek recognizes that environment impacts employee attitude which impacts customer service call quality!  Following leaders like Google, StarTek’s Costa Rica Call Center has a hip modern design to attract and energize employees who appreciate the quality of their work space.  Costa Rica’s “Nature of Inspiration” is also evident in this creative design with each floor representing a different eco system of Costa Rica.  There’s a Rainforest Floor, Volcano Floor and even a Floor that’s a Day at the Beach!  A spacious and bright employee lunch room helps to energize employees so the last call of the day is as enthusiastic as the first.

Under the direction of Call Center Site Manager Ryan Carey,  the StarTek Customer Service Call Center is a creative and comfortable environment with on-site catering, free transportation for employees, an on-site doctor and even a recreation room with a Wii that all combine to create a positive and productive workplace.   Carey has gone the extra mile in the design, having sat in the chair of a call center agent and the results are note worthy.

Listen up Call Center Managers:  There’s a reason prisons are depressing places!  It’s called environment! I have witnessed far too many call centers including my own years ago, that do nothing to energize the employees and indeed resemble a prison.  The result is what we have settled for in the industry and as customers: Robotic agents that can barely wow themselves yet alone provide WOW! Customer Service over the phone. PS: Providing a creative and positive work environment shows returns in both productivity and reduced turnover.

2) Passion and People:  Hire for Attitude/Train for Skill and Commit to Hiring only the Best!

In my years of teaching “How to Recruit and Hire the Right People”, I perhaps have not seen a more rigorous recruitment process in the Call Center Industry.  According to StarTek’s passionate Director of Strategic Recruiting and Talent Acquisition, Holly Reed, the secret is in the sophisticated recruitment process that seeks to identify the candidate’s value proposition.  Does the employee fit both the skills needed by successful agents as well as the StarTek Culture?

According to Reed, StarTek is looking for the “5 E’s” in their Call Center Sales Agents:  Engaged, Experienced in Sales, Enthusiasm, Excellence in English Language Skills and Employees who actually Enjoy Sales!  Duh! Why hire someone who hates sales if their primary job is selling?  It may sound like common sense but you would be surprised at the lack of that consideration by call center managers caught in a turnover tsunami.  To those managers, a recommendation to stop the madness!  Ask not why employees are leaving but why your top performers are staying and develop a strategic recruitment and retention process around that question.

StarTek’s recruitment process for agents includes an on-line application, followed by a sales assessment,   followed by a 155 data point interview over the phone.  Then comes the next phase of an on-site interview by the team in which the candidate also interviews StarTek, experiences first hand what the job is about, through listening and observation of calls and a final test which I believe is pivotal.  Sorry if I told you that secret recruitment test, I’d have to kill you!  No unfair advantage in the StarTek application process.  Suffice to say the team at StarTek is seeking the Real Deal:  Passionate, Personable and Performance Driven and Yes, they live by –Hire for Attitude, Train for Skill.

Turn Around your Life for the Better With Easy to Implement Feng Shui Tips

Our life goes round in a full circle and in every person’s life there are a number of ups and downs, which bring about changes in our circumstances from time to time. Our endeavor is to always better our state of being, using all possible means available to us. One such uncommon method of improving the state of things is the use and implementation of Feng Shui tips in our day to day life. Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of balancing the elements and energies around our living space to achieve harmony and prosperity in the four major aspects of our life which are health, wealth, career and relationships. Each element like earth, water, air and fire are related to these various aspects and this practice helps us to balance them perfectly.

Feng Shui tips are applied by keeping the basic intent in mind, as to which aspect would an individual like to strengthen and which negativity would he like to dispense off. As for example, if you are interested in advancing your career then the Feng Shui tips provided to you would be greatly different from those provided to an individual who is more concerned with building his personal relationships. Also, an individual’s kua number is of great importance while applying the tips as the kua number decides the lucky and unlucky directions of the person and accordingly the tips can be implemented. It the element of water is good for activating one’s career luck but his personal number advises him to stay away from the colors of blue and black, representing water, then a balance has to be drawn between the two.

The advice and guidance of a Feng shui expert is essential while implementing any Feng shui tips in your life and living space. As this is a powerful tool that can shuffle the positive and negative energies around you to benefit you if used properly, the reverse can also happen if inaccurately used and implemented. Keeping a water body is good for career but if placed in the wrong room or direction it can cause great loss through theft or possible infidelity in an otherwise strong relationship. Hence, maintaining caution while using the tips is of prime importance.

Always take the advice of an expert while implementing feng shui tips for your home or office. In today’s time more and more people are realizing the benefits of alternative practices for improving the quality of life. Hence feng shui is also a prominent feature in many websites, magazines and even television shows. Many of us get mislead by the advice given on such forums and wrongly implement the tips, only to cause more harm than good. It is therefore crucial that the tips are implemented in the right way to provide the greatest benefit to the individuals. Use the guidance to balance the various elements and energies, both Yin (female) and Yang (male) to achieve perfect harmony, peace and prosperity in every aspect of your life be it health, wealth, career or relationships.

10 Feng Shui Tips To Unlock The Secrets To A Better Home Living For Your Bedroom

One of the most important place to bring in good feng shui is your bedroom. If you want to activate your career luck, wealth luck and have good luck, good health and good fortune, feng shui-ing your bedroom is the most important aspect. We have people asking us on how to feng shui your bedroom and we really do have a few amazing feng shui tips that will help you to bring in good fortune and good luck through your bedroom.

The ancient Chinese method of Feng Shui can help us to balance our home living and create a happier and healthier lives. In the context of feng shui, we often turn our attention to the bedroom, the sanctuary where we rest and rejuvenate. By tapping on the effectiveness of good feng shui, it’s easy to feng shui your bedroom according to feng shui rules and principles so that you can create more good fortune and more harmony in your bedroom.

In terms of yin and yang perspective, our bedroom is a more yin, peaceful and quiet enviroment. Hence, you need to create your bedroom’s ambience into one which you will feel protected and free from distracting and powerful chi that will disturb your rest. In addition, it is also essential that the circulation of chi in your bedroom is good and being distributed evenly and fresh air is available to recharge you.

10 Feng Shui Tips To Unlocking A Better Home Living In Your Bedroom 1. Do not display too many electrical components and equipment in your bedroom

The good feng shui energy or chi in your bedroom will be destroyed when there are too many electronics items in your bedroom. Electronics are known to have negative ions which in terms of feng shui are bad chi or bad energy that will be an interference to a good night sleep.

2. Open the windows in your bedroom

Open the windows in your bedroom frequently to let the good air and energy to enter into your room and bad energy to escape to the outside. Remember to open your windows wide to allow air to be purified and keep the air in your bedroom fresh and full of oxygen. From a feng shui perspective, you cannot have good feng shui in your bedroom if the air you breathe in your bedroom is stale and full of pollutants.

3. Position your bed so that you can see the door from where you sleep

It is a fact that the dead are being carried out with their head facing the door. If you sleep with the door behind your head, it is an extremely bad feng shui and you will attract bad luck and misfortune. Position your bed so that you can see the door from where you sleep as this gives you a deep sense of inner security.

4. Keep all the doors in your bedroom closed at night

You must close all the doors in your bedroom, be it the closet doors and the bathroom door. By doing this, you will allow the best and most nourishing flow of energy to strengthen your health and also bring your relationship with others to be in good harmony.

5. Have a good headboard

When you are sleeping on your bed, make sure that you have a good solid headboard behind your head while you are sleeping. The reason behind this is that, when you are drifting off to sleep on your bed, your whole body system is undergoing an extra busy energy repair and rejuvenation on many levels. Hence, your head needs good solid backing, protection and support just like your back needs a support when you are seating on a chair for a long period of time.

6. Position your bed to have more space for each other if you are sleeping with another person

If you are sleeping with your love partner, you must take note of the position of your bed relative to the wall that it is up against. Make sure either of you is not crammed into a corner of a room. Place your bed in a spacious area so that both of you have space to move around on the left or right. This is because, a shared bed crammed into a corner of a room is giving more freedom of chi to the individual on the open side while the other individual will be squeezed to a corner against the wall which is not conducive to good energy flow. This is a very significant feng shui principle if you want to have a good relationship with your significant other.

7. Induce good dimming lighting in your bedroom

Have good levels of lighting that are not very bright in your bedroom. You can even use a dimmer switch to adjust the energy accordingly. Light is one of the strongest manifestation of energy and by placing some dim lighting in your bedroom, you are creating a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Light also helps to prevent the chi or energy from being stagnant in one corner and helps to distribute these energy evenly around the bedroom. In fact, candles are the best feng shui bedroom lighting, but be sure to buy candles with no toxins.

8. Place your bed in the area further from the door

Never place your bed near to the door or worse still, in line with the door. In other words, you want to be able to see the bedroom’s door while in bed but not be aligned in a straight line with the door. By saying this, it is not only your bedroom’s door that you must take note, your bed should also not be in line with your bathroom’s door, your door to the balcony or your closet doors. In short, you do not want your bed to be in line with any of the doors in your bedroom.

9. Place matching bedside tables on either side of your bed

If two sleep in the bed, make sure you have matching bedside tables on either side of your bed to add stability and protection in the relationship. In addition, make sure that your bedside tables do not have square edges as the sharp points at the end will cause cutting shar chi or killing enery to being focused towards the occupants. Instead, choose bedside tables that have rounded edges.

10. Make sure your bed is in a good height and do not have storage items below your bed

One of the most important feng shui tips for a good bedroom is that your bed must have a good height above the ground. This is to allow for a balanced feng shui chi or energy to flow under the bed. In addition, you must not have built-in storage drawers underneath your bed and these are considered bad feng shui beds. The reason behind is that, the energy or chi needs to circulate around your body when you are sleeping, which is not possible if the space underneath your bed is being blocked. Pay attention to what is under your bed. Keep the space clear and get rid of any unwanted items there. Hence, the ultimate taboo is not to place any storage items beneath your bed and make sure that your bed is in a good height and not too low to the floor.

Conclusion

The truth you need to understand is that very few bedrooms have perfect feng shui. Unless, you had the luck to design and build your house with good feng shui in mind, most probably, you will be facing some challenges to create a good feng shui bedroom. How to Use Chi Lins to Feng Shui Your Way to a Better Life

Chinese adore Chi Lin, also known as Kei Loon, Qi Lin or the Chinese unicorn. Traditionally, Chi Lins are used to guard the front entrance to the house. Chi Lins are also used to protect businesses like casinos, hotels, antique shops etc. Chi Lin is often being associated with extreme lucky symbol of fortune and happy blessings. It is often depicted standing or sitting on a bed of wealth like coins and gold ingots to represent growing wealth luck and steady income luck. Owning the auspicious Chi Lin will bring you prosperity and protection. It is sometimes called the dragon horse, a mythical creature that has a lot of legends and stories associated to it.

Chi Lin is a mythical creature and guardian of the heavenly gates possessing the head of a dragon and the body of a horse with carp like scales on its body. This combination produces the most special results and qualities: dragon head blows cosmic chi from its celestial breath that benefits the surrounding Feng Shui and hence promises good omens, wealth, success, longevity, wisdom, compassion and distinguished children. Chi Lin’s horse body symbolizes great ambitions, good health, strength, perseverance, success and fame. The scale of the carp signifies abundance and prosperity. The patterns on Chi Lin’s back were used to derive the earlier heaven bagua, a great Taoism symbol used in the study of the natural laws of Heaven and the Universe. . The magnificent Chi Lin is believed to have great protective abilities. It is also believed that if you look into the eyes of the Chi Lin it will bring you happiness and good fortune.

Chi Lins are sometimes crafted in a pair of male and female. The male Chi Lin is usually depicted holding a globe to signify global network and fortune coming from all directions. Here is how you can use Chi Lins to Feng Shui your way to a better life:

2. Place a pair of Chi Lins at the front door facing outwards. The Chi Lin is the sentinel that neutralizes any harmful elements and wards off people with bad intention from entering the home. It will bring blessing to your home or your office. Chi Lin can also symbolize lots of offspring to your family.

3. In Flying Star Feng Shui, the Chi Lins made of metal material is used to ward-off the evil influences of the #5 yellow star and #2 black star. The #2 black star is also known as the ‘Sickness Star’ which brings illnesses and ailments to occupants while the #5 yellow star is the ‘Disaster Star’ that instigates fights, accidents and disputes. Placing the Chi Lins in the affected sectors will dilute these adverse energies.

4. Three Chi Lins is a perfect remedy for Three Killings. Place three Chi Lins in the sector where the Three Killings is located. This is the best Feng Shui cure for bad Chi from the Three Killings and prevent you from being betrayed, cheated and suffering loss of some kind.

Feng Shui Tips: How To Feng Shui Your Home For Better Living

In Chinese feng shui translates to wind and water. As a form of knowledge and mystical instruction it dates back several thousand years to ancient China.

Thousands of years ago, the rulers of China needed to consider carefully the geography and layout of the country, since constructing any buildings, bridges or infrastructure depending on the land.

In particular builders needed to carefully plan their constructions around the severe winds, mountains and water masses, as well as the propensity of China to flood.

Because of these earthly considerations, the word feng shui (meaning wind and water) came about.

In America, we became acquainted with Feng Shui back in the 1840s during the California gold rush when many families from all over the world came to the US to seek their fortunes in gold.

These days we are all know about feng shui and it is a common principle that modern people use to help organize their lives.

Indeed we can thank the many Chinese immigrants that flocked to the United States in the 1800s since they brought with them their belief systems, which included a faith in the principles of Feng Shui.

In this day and age we tend to use a more basic version of this knowledge, but it continues to prove its worth.

1) The origins of Feng Shui

The Chinese originally devised the principles and philosophies of Feng Shui in order to decide where to bury significant people, in particular members of dynasties and royal families.

It was initially taken up to select burial sites for the wealthy, as well as palace locations for royalty. Scholars that practiced feng shui analyzed the signs and signals given from the earth to make a decision as to where to construct buildings and bury the dead.

For example, they would consider which trees were clearly affected by wind, looked for rocks, and streams.

Based on these early observations, the book of the I-Ching (meaning Book of Changes) was written. At its core, Feng Shui functions as a rulebook to working with nature, following a life that respect and reveres the earth, and acting with integrity towards our immediate environment as well as the planet more generally.

Feng Shui really must be experienced to be believed. Ask anyone who has ever taken up the practice and they will tell you that it not only turned their life around but also saved it as well. Feng Shui really is the most practical guide to better living that the numerous new age remedies have to offer.

Feng Shui provides principles that not only improve your inner self but also your lived in environment. Many people that organize their lives around the framework of Feng Shui report that it brings a balance to your life force.

Not only does it built a platform for a balanced life style, it also brings harmony and serenity even in this day and age of hustle and bustle and confusion.

2) The principles of Feng Shui

To improve your life through Feng Shui, it is imperative that you follow the guidelines of balance and harmony that are at the root of Feng Shui.

According to Feng Shui, the universe is composed of three components. Every living being, every plant and every object is supposed to represent one of these three element which are Yin, Yang and Chi.

Yang is male in nature where as Yin is female in nature. Together Yin and Yang are two forces which are responsible in creation and sustenance of all living and non-living objects on earth.

Chi is the force that is created through the natural interplay of Yin and Yang.

Chi (or positive energy) should always be able to flow freely through any space in order to help us being in balance with the elements surrounding us. Chi is what brings us what we desire in life and allows us to be prosperous. Chi is based on the natural energy exchange which exists among everything on earth.

3) Some introductory tips

Learning about feng shui takes time, and there are very many principles to follow. That said, bringing positive energy into your home is relatively easy and can involve only a few simple adjustments. Here are a few tips to get you started.

a) You should never crowd furniture. Each piece of furniture should have space around it to allow chi (or good energy) to flow freely.

b) Never place beds, chairs, sofas or desks right across or with their back towards the main door. You and your guests should never positioned with your back right across the entrance door.

c) Do not concentrate too much of one energy in one place. Your house should balance fire, water and metal to be in balance, you should avoid placing to much fire, earth or wood in one area.

d) Do not position elements in opposition to one another. For example a fireplace or stove should not be across from a wash basin, fish tank or toilet. The clash between fire and water will cause disharmony in the house.

e) Illuminate dark corners since they concentrate too much negative yin energy. Place a light or a plant in shadowy areas to disperse the darkness and allow chi energy to flow into the space.

Incorporating the principles of Feng Shui into your home is sure to help you better balance your life.
