What are the basic principles of color usage/ object placement in Feng Shui? And does it work?
I’m trying to use Feng Shui in my living room and bedroom to improve my wealth and relationships (far right and far left corners). I need help with placing colors in those areas and what objects belong where. Like where should my fish tank go? I used to have my living room done according to the "rules" at my other house, but now I moved and need some guidance because I cannot find the information I’ve used before and the internet searches all say different things. Thanks!
I really like this tool from HGTV’s show "Fun Shui":
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_988/text/0,,HGTV_22056_64661,00.html
Just click on the area that you want to improve, and then it takes you to a page with a list of suggestions for feng shui cures.
For example, in the wealth area, you should use any of these items or colors in the far left corner of your room or home to boost your prosperity:
• Any color in the blue, red or purple color spectrum
• Expensive or valuable possessions, such as art, crystals, coins and sculpture
• Water features, such as waterfalls, fountains and fish tanks
• Fresh flowers or plants that bloom in blue, red or purple flowers
• Healthy plants, especially ones with round, coin-shaped leaves, such as jade plants
• Photos and artwork representing desired possessions, such as cars, homes or jewelry
• Affirmations or quotes pertaining to wealth and abundance
• Wind chimes, mobiles, flags and whirligigs
• Arrangements in groupings of four
So that’s where your fish tank goes!
What would be the best wording for this?
I want the beginning of the speech’s introduction to be something about how un-feng shui the classroom is… and how everyone in the room is getting "stabbed" by poison arrows because the room has so many pointy things like corners. The intro has to be attention getting… does that mean I need to shout?
Or maybe I can use a rhetorical question "How compatible are you with your house?" or maybe play "having relationship, school, etc. problems?" Since feng shui cures this apparently…
I’m doing an informative speech The Fundamentals of Feng Shui for my worst class ENGLISH with the devil… >_<
(Write ‘Feng Shui’ on the blackboard. You could even wow the class by writing the Chinese characters too.)
"Have you ever hear of Feng Shui? (Be sure to pronounce it correctly.) It’s the study of interior and exterior design elements and how they’re believed to interact with human conditions … etc. Originated in China … etc.
"This classroom, for instance, has some very bad feng shui …" (Don’t say ‘un-feng shui’)
Go on to give three examples of sharp things pointing at people, bad colors, poor orientation to the points of the compass, whatever. If there’s anything good from the feng shui standpoint in your classroom, you should mention that as well.
You could also describe how serious believers in feng shui hire experts to design the orientation of new buildings, and place the rooms and the objects within them. Give an example with pictures if you can find one. You could draw two simple room plans on the board, one bad and one good, and describe their elements.
I think you’d lose your audience if you made excessive claims about how correct feng shui can solve human problems. It’s probably enough to say, "It is believed by many people that … etc." You could say that because we have rarely heard of the principles of feng shui, we’ve put up buildings that seem subtly wrong, but we don’t exactly realize why. In our own homes, though, we can often rearrange furniture, change colors, etc. to make them more right from the feng shui standpoint.
In our own house, the door into the kitchen automatically comes to rest pointing at my place at the table like a knife blade. I always wondered why I didn’t like that — after reading about feng shui I realized why. Now I take care to close it before sitting down.

You should first know your favorable directions so to have your bed in placed in a good direction for you. This will improve relationships or wealth, depending on which direction you choose.
Furthermore, you should use the 8 Mansions or the Flying Stars system of Feng Shui and apply it to your room. You’ll find all information about all related (favorable directions, theories etc.) here:

Feng Shui Your New Years Resolutions
Every New Year brings opportunities for change and improvement for the better of yourself and your family. Feng Shui. Evaluation, analysis and improvement are the watchwords towards blocks in your path.
All lives have blocks in their paths. The key in feng shui is to find the areas where you are being blocked. Unblock and unlock those areas so that your life can proceed in a positive fruitful manner. Life will take on a new meaning and flow. Life will begin to flow smoothly. For most people feng shui holds important information on how to remove these blocks and enhance the energy within their lives and homes so that you can improve your life’s circumstances.
Because people are very similar, we also face similar challenges. For some finances are a big concern , while for others it is relationships that elude or frustrate them and yet for others matters of health are their major concern and tantamount. Whatever your frustration, there is a feng shui remedy or answer to life’s most common – and challenging problems.
Always begin with the most standard and common blocks to successful living. What might be causing these blocks in your path of life? Next work to remove these blocks and thus improve the quality of your life and the positive contributions that your can make to your family, home life and workplace. Feng Shui.
The following areas of concern may be standing in the way of your financial wealth.
What could be standing UN your way of creating more prosperity or having more to spend or save?
First of all check your front entrance to your home. Is the front door pinched and narrow? Are there dead plants at your front or rear doors to your home? Is their a tree in line with your front door? What about your actual purse or wallet? Is it messy or disorganized? Is it full of old outdated receipts, papers and documents? Clear away past disturbances affecting your current and future life. In the same way prune your financial files of old and unnecessary papers. Ensure that the south east corners of your home – the wealth corner is not devoid of support. Add a living enhancer – such as an aquarium, terrarium or even a simple live plant.
Next step for the New Year clear away the blocks in your relationships with others. Clear away photos and mementos of old relationships from which you have moved on.
This includes of course not only photographs and drawing but old love letters and notes and unwanted gifts or other items.
It is the time of year to plan to be helpful to others in your life. Open yourself to others positively. Are there overgrown shrubs limiting your view of yourself to other potential friends in your life? Is your car so messy that is will give others the wrong impression about you? Is their pile of paper at your home or workplace that needs cleaning? Similarly are there broken items littering your direct environment.
Lastly to ensure a prosperous New Year for both yourself and people you wish to include in your relationships finish final cleaning during the first month of the New Year.
Write positive wishes for the New Year. Lastly purchase bright flowers to adorn the entrance to your home. Feng Shui.

How Shapes of Buildings Implicate Feng Shui
There is something about shapes of buildings, which in feng shui are associated with one of the five elements. Basically, these shapes are; square or cube, rectangle, the circle or sphere, the wave or curve liner, and the pyramid or triangle. Each of this shape represents or associate with five of the elements; earth, wood, metal, water and fire. It is possible to use these shapes to incorporate subtle yet effective feng shui harmony into buildings. Beside the shapes, elements, direction where the building sits also plays a important part in feng shui. Element Shapes can also be used as a means of enhancing or exhausting certain sectors based on either Flying Star combinations or the 8 Mansions formula.
The five elements of feng shui and shapes:
EARTH – Square
FIRE – Triangle
METAL – Circle
WATER – Curve liner
WOOD – Rectangle
Five Elements and Shapes of Building
Square Shape building represents the element of earth. It will be auspicious if a square building faced or sits in the direction of SW/NE. It is said that square shape building command authoritative with dominance, therefore, it will be suitable for a corporate offices and bank. Enhanced the building with an earth element base, using material such as granite and marble will offer strong earth energy which benefits the luck of the building. SW and NE are the direction for earth element.
Triangle shape building signifies the fire element. The ideal sitting location should be south, the sector of fire. Building with the shape of triangle, the best orientation would be a North-South axis, with the building facing north and sitting south.
To enhance the luck of the triangle building, the alternative location would be for the building to sit East or Southeast, in this way, the wood element would then feed the building’s fire element.
A circle or Sphere shape building signifies the metal element. So long there is a curve within the overall building in concept, it suggests that the building is a circle shape. It needs not to be overall circle in shape. To enhance the luck of the building, the use of glass and steel are beneficial. Such buildings are excellent sitting West or Northwest, so facing East and Southeast.
A curve liner building symbolizes the element of water. Water is an element that is constant movement. Curve liner buildings adopt a prominent curve form that extends throughout the building design. The curve liner gives a powerful statement of visual ‘wave’. Shopping malls or exhibition centres will benefit from this design concept. Curve liner building forms are efficient for creating the flow of speed. It is advisable to avoid building with such shape for office or residential locations. The direction
for a water element building should be to face South and sit North. Use full steel-base “look” material for the base of the building to enhance the water element of the building.
A rectangle shape building is associated with the element of wood. Many popular of high-rise building shapes is the rectangle. It will be beneficial if the building can incorporate wood or water elements energy. Avoid glass and concrete dominate the building. Blue-tinted glass, which represents water energy, is a good ideal for the building. Once can also provide the building with a “wood’ look as enhancements.
The best directions for this type of building, is to sit East, Southeast or North.

Feng shui- Teen Style….Ideas!!!!!?
Hey I am gonna Feng Shui my room but i need ideas for each one of these!
Wealth
fame
relationships/love
family
balance
creativity
knowledge
career/passion
friends
WOOH!
You feng shui that room girlfriend!
I guess the way your bed faces is a big issue says my dad (hes chinese) as well as your study desk since it realates to your education.
And the corners of furniture shouldnt point towards your door cos it harms your health (somwhere i read)
Bright colours are usually better if ur redecorating your room, or colours related to your birth of month. Having a simple clean bedrrom with a bit of creative arts is also good. Its not good if there are too many objects in your room or if its messy =)
Oh and let some sunlight in your room too! SUnlight is awesome.
Hope i helped and goodluck xD
Feng Shui Question?
My bed is in the coffin possition in my bedroom. There is no where else to put it as there is a window on one wall, and doors on the others.
Do you know the problems assosiated with this and do you know what I can do to "cure" this.
Many thanks…..
There are a few things you can do.
If the bed is positioned where your feet(or head) point straight out the door it is considered the "coffin ready to be carried out" position. One cure for this is to hang a metal wind chime halfway between the door and the bed. The sound of the chime deflects the chi of the door and creates safety and relief. You can also hang a large crystal(at least 60mm) alone or with the wind chime. You can also position the bed under the window as long as there is a solid headboard, curtains or blinds to block off the window because energy enters the body through the head. Good Luck!
